Do I need a referral from my doctor to get an appointment?
You don't need a referral to book an appointment at Shine Therapy Services.
Am I guaranteed to receive therapy services at Shine?
Therapists reserve the right to decide if a client is a good fit for their service. For this reason, we ask you reach out to make sure that you and the therapist are a good fit for each other! Sometimes we will refer to other service providers and options in the community if we, for whatever reason, are not in a position to support you and/or your child. Depending on current caseloads, the therapists may also have a waitlist for services. Please reach out with any questions about this.
Can I book my child's appointment under my name for billing?
No, we are not able to book appointments for children under their parents name.
How does the telehealth booking work in different time zones?
Shine Therapy Services is set up for booking in pacific standard time which is the time you will see on your appointment reminder emails. If you're in another time zone you will have to adjust for your local time.
Do you direct bill to insurance companies?
It depends on the service you are receiving and your insurance. All our therapists can bill Autism Funding. Emily and Catherine can bill the At Home Program. Most extended health benefits will allow for physiotherapy direct billing, however counselling tends to require you to submit the receipt yourself. Please check with your benefits to see what will be covered for you/ your child.
