What can an OT help kids with?

Occupational Therapists are trained to help children with a variety of meaningful activities! An occupation for kids is play, socializing, attending school or whatever meaningful things occupy their time.

Some things our OT's help with include

• Emotional regulation

• Sensory processing skills

• Social skills

• Executive functioning skills

• Establishing routines

• Suggesting equipment or supplies for home to improve the environment

• Interoception (the ability to sense what our body is feeling at any given moment)

• Feeding (OT Emily)

• Transition to adulthood

• Fine Motor skills (handwriting, cutting with scissors, dressing etc)

• Learning how to modify play and fun activities for kids with disabilities
