Mobile physiotherapy or physiotherapy home visits are a way of accessing physiotherapy from the comfort of your home! The way this differs from telehealth is that your physiotherapist will physically come to your home and provide physio assessments and treatments in person with you.
What are the benefits?
You continue to receive the best evidence informed treatment of advice, education and exercise, however, your physiotherapist also has the opportunity to do a hands on assessment and provide some hands on treatment if required. For children, your physiotherapist is able to engage them in play based therapy right there in your home! We also get the benefit of assessing the home environment for you or your child.
What type of people/ conditions can a physiotherapist work with in home?
We can treat anyone through a mobile home visit! Whether you have a child with a developmental disability, a sports injury, pelvic health condition for you or your child, general musculoskeletal complaint and if you have any functional problems or physical goals. We can use a combination of equipment/ toys you have at home as well as some extra equipment your physio will bring.
Where can I access home visits?
Shine Therapy Services is going to be providing home visits for children and adults in the Okanagan starting in May this year! Online booking is available and the prices listed are for those living in Kelowna (extra travel costs apply to those outside of
Kelowna).
